PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — People who are vaccine-hesitant often question whether the COVID-19 vaccines actually work.
For a physician, one approach is the same as the commonly used method with any patient who has questions about health: Give a professional opinion, but far more importantly, share facts and suggest ways to learn more.
When it comes to the coronavirus vaccines, look for key information — good or bad. So far, the news is overwhelmingly good.
One of the biggest arguments in favor of vaccines is that the number of daily deaths from COVID-19 continues to decline dramatically. According to an analysis of CDC publicly released data in the month of May, there were 853,000 hospitalizations. Of that number, only 1,200 were already fully vaccinated — approximately 0.1%.
