PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If a COVID-19 vaccine was available today, would you take it? Some surveys are saying maybe not.
Right up to the time of Election Day, people are continuously being polled by numerous organizations. This year, not surprisingly, questions are being asked about trust in a vaccine.
The numbers are interesting: about 70% of registered voters surveyed said they would take a COVID-19 vaccine, although many want to wait until it has been available for a while to see if there are major problems or side effects.
One out of five say they would take it right away, but more than 50% say they would want to learn all they can before they take it.
Depending on the speed of development and production of the vaccine, those first decision-makers will probably be first responders, health care workers and those on the front lines, as well as those in high risk categories.
