PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police arrested a 25-year-old on Thursday in connection with a deadly shooting last week in Norristown, but they are still searching for a second man.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of 25-year-old Marquan “Trey” Banks, of Brookhaven. He was taken into custody on Thursday in Chester.

Banks was wanted for the Jan. 11 shooting of 37-year-old Jermaine Pierce in Norristown. Around 7:30 that night, two groups of men crossed paths on Noble Street, near Airy Street.

Investigators said Banks was with two other men walking toward Airy Street when they encountered Pierce and 29-year-old Isaiah Bell walking in the other direction. As one of the men in Banks’ group stopped to greet Bell, Banks pulled out a gun and shot Pierce in the face. Banks fled with the two other men in his group.

Video footage reviewed by investigators showed Bell searching a downed Pierce, then pulling out his own gun and firing in Banks’ direction.

Pierce was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Police found five spent shell casings at the scene on Noble Street, along with two live rounds of ammunition.

Banks is set to be charged with first-degree murder and related gun offenses.

Authorities did not say whether they were looking for the other two men who were with Banks.
