SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A South Jersey man is facing multiple charges after he was arrested in connection with an Evesham Township home invasion back in February.

Evesham Township police said 62-year-old Edwin Dillard, of Bellmawr, is facing several charges, including home invasion, robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

On Feb. 27, investigators said Dillard attacked a resident at his home on Dana Road while he was retrieving trash cans from the curb. The suspect was allegedly armed with a box cutter and forced the victim into his garage, then into the home.

Police said Dillard was trying to tie up the victim and his wife with a rope when police arrived, and Dillard fled out the back door.

DNA collected from the scene came back as a match to Dillard, and he was arrested at his home on Tuesday.

He is being held at Burlington County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance.
