PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police arrested one man but are still searching for another in the shooting death of a store clerk during a suspected robbery in Frankford last week.

Shortly after midnight on July 11, responding officers found 37-year-old Kenneth Kennedy-McLeod lying in a pool of blood and cash inside the Frankford Convenience Store near the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street, near the Frankford Transportation Center.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police said two men robbed the store and shot Kennedy-McLeod in both shoulders.

On Tuesday, officers arrested one of the suspects — 37-year-old Kharee Simmons, of Cobbs Creek — at a home in West Philadelphia. He is charged with murder, robbery and related offenses.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the second suspect, 42-year-old Siddeeq Shakoor. They said he is known to frequent the 5600 block of Windsor Street in Kingsessing and the 4800 block of Mulberry Street in Frankford.

Police said no gun was left at the scene, but they did recover shell casings to a 9mm firearm. They believe the motive was robbery.

Police said Shakoor is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip by calling or texting 215-686-8477. Tips can also be submitted anonymously online.
