PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An arrest warrant has been issued to a 35-year-old man for his connection to Nasir Grant and Ameen Hurst’s escape from the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center earlier this week.

Police say Jose Flores-Huerta, who was charged with fatally beating New York soccer fan Isidro Cortes outside Pat’s Steaks in South Philly in 2021, was the lookout for the two’s prison escape.

Flores-Huerta is the second person to be arrested in connection to Grant and Hurst's escape. He is being charged with criminal conspiracy and escape.

Police ask that anyone with information contact the U.S. Marshal tip line at 1-800-336-0102 or the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story said Flores-Huerta had fatally beaten a soccer fan outside Pat's Steaks in 2021. Flores-Huerta has been charged with the crime but is still awaiting trial.
