PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 26-year-old man is dead after he was shot inside a small West Philadelphia grocery store on Monday afternoon.
It was around 4:30 p.m. when police said a man came inside 40th & Market Grocery dressed in all black with a gun drawn to his side.
Police Captain Timothy Stephan said some words were exchanged between the suspect and the 26-year-old before shots were fired.
The 26-year-old was shot in his lower body, fell to the ground, then was shot again in the stomach.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Police said the shooter got away on an electric scooter or e-bike.
Police interviewed witnesses inside the store. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video.
