PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead after police found him shot behind the wheel of his car in Southwest Philadelphia overnight.

Shortly before midnight on Thursday, police received a report of a shooting at 67th and Upland streets. When officers got to the scene, they found a Nissan that was partially on the curb.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said a 40-year-old man was slumped over in the driver’s seat.

“He was unresponsive, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his chest,” he said.

The officers got him out of the car and took him to the hospital, where he died.

Police don’t know if he was shot inside or outside the car, or who pulled the trigger.

No one was arrested. Investigators are looking through surveillance footage from the neighborhood.
