PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — New Jersey State Police have apprehended the man accused of trying to abduct a 7-year-old boy from a Wawa in Cumberland County earlier this week.
It happened on May 28 at a Wawa in Dorchester around 12:20 p.m. The boy told police a man approached him in the restroom and offered him candy to leave the store with him.
When the boy said no, the man allegedly grabbed him by the arm. The boy broke free and ran to his mother in the women’s restroom.
Police said on Friday they arrested 79-year-old Thomas Cannon, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
