NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting of a 42-year-old outside a Wawa in Toms River Friday morning.
Police responded to the store on Route 37 and Garfield Avenue just before 7:30 a.m. and found Bruce Gress suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
On Saturday, police named 51-year-old Douglas Cobb as the shooter and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Cobb faces a handful of charges, including murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Police said Cobb is also known as Douglas Green and his nickname is “Bootknock.”
He was last seen driving a black 2016 Acura MDX with a New Jersey Registration plate that reads T93YJL.
