PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people were stabbed in the Poplar section of North Philadelphia Friday morning.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. at the Spring Garden Apartments on Franklin Place, near Wallace Street.
Investigators said there was a domestic incident involving a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman who live together in an apartment. Police said an argument escalated to violence.
The man assaulted the woman first, police said, and, in response, she grabbed a knife and slashed him in the chest. The man then got hold of the knife and stabbed the woman in the thigh.
The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The woman is stable.
Officials said children also live in the home, but they were not hurt.
