While this Eagles fan can't see the games, he most certainly has never missed one, and never plans to

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Mark Esposito of Haddon Township has been an Eagles fan for more than three decades and a season ticket holder since the Linc opened, modeling his fandom off of this slogan:

“I’ve never seen a game, but I’ll never miss one.”

Esposito, 41, is blind, but that does not stop him from keeping up with and supporting his team, no matter how well or badly they’re playing.

He follows the games by listening to the legendary radio broadcast crew of Merrill Reese and Mike Quick in his headphones. Esposito says he’s “in heaven when [Merrill] calls the games.”

“And if we can actually bring the game to him and paint that picture in his mind,” Reese said, “that is everything we’re looking for.”

The games are a happy place for Esposito. He enjoys shouting, cheering, and interacting with his fellow fans, including high-fiving his buddies.

Esposito is such a loyal fan that the Eagles honored him in 2010 by putting his picture on one of their Game Day tickets. It was an awesome experience for him, which included playing catch at the NovaCare Complex with former Eagles defensive back Ellis Hobbs.

And even though the Eagles are coming off an epic collapse to their 2023 season — losing six of their last seven games — Esposito believes they will turn it around in spectacular fashion.

“They’re gonna win the Super Bowl,” he says. “And I know that, for a fact, they’re gonna win it all — win all their games next year.”

It’s unquestionable that Esposito, who turns 42 on Wednesday, fits the description of a Philadelphia Sports Fan of the Week.
