PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 22-year-old who pleaded guilty to a daytime, gunpoint rape in Norristown Farm Park is facing additional charges.

Mason Hall is one of four people charged with trying to smuggle drugs into the county jail, by having someone spray pieces of paper with synthetic marijuana, then send it to him through the mail.
According to the criminal complaint, Hall wrote a friend saying he had climbed the ranks inside the jail and planned to make $100,000 by smuggling in drugs before he went to state prison on a rape conviction. Hall said he planned to smuggle 10 drug-soaked pages a month.
Hall has been in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility since October 2019, when he was arrested and charged with putting a gun to the head of a woman who was out for a morning walk in Norristown Farm Park in 2017. He forced that woman into a clearing and raped her.
He pleaded guilty to rape and other charges in June 2021.
Hill and fellow inmate 37-year-old Luis Valasquez are facing felony charges. Two others — Latashia Lucas, 31, and Patrick Perna, 21, both of Norristown — are also charged with helping outside of the jail.
