PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Leading health experts and pundits are weighing in: If there is going to be a new pandemic, when?
Over the past two years, COVID-19 has moved throughout the world doing its job, which is to infect people and spread. That's how it stays alive.
Scientists and non-scientists alike are predicting what's next to come. Some say COVID-19 will flame out, while others worry about a pandemic caused by a different virus.
In reality, at this point, these are just opinions. What we do know is that we need to be vigilant and begin testing as soon as a threat is detected — wherever it is. Nations need to work together, vaccine and therapeutic research need to continue, and if there is a next time, we need to unify.
One thing is definite: Viruses will continue to not care what we think.
