PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There is no doubt that all of us could use some relaxing time outside. Fortunately, the weather is starting to cooperate. As the temperatures climb and we head outdoors, it is time to prepare for increased sun exposure and pesky insects.
You may have noticed advertising for products combining insect repellent and sunblock that are on the market. There is one potential problem: Sunscreen should be applied often, and insect repellent should not be applied more than necessary. It is best to keep these separated.
One other key point: The difference between sunblock and sunscreen. Sunblock is the goal, but sunscreen is what we get. Be smart out there.
