PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Yoga is one of the most popular activities for people of all ages, and there is a good reason. It helps with strength, conditioning, balance and is a wonderful stress reducer.
There is another advantage – yoga is an activity that never has to stop. In fact, new research looked at more than 2,000 people over the age of 65 who practiced chair-based yoga. Many of these people were in nursing facilities or suffered from chronic disease.
Many of the advantages younger people achieved were reproduced in the older age group, including a greater sense of well being.
