PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It’s been more than a month since Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc on the greater Philadelphia region. Although it weakened to a tropical depression, the storm brought unprecedented floods, multiple tornadoes and severe damage, particularly in parts of Montgomery County.
FEMA opened its Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (MDRCs) on Friday, where Montco residents can register for Hurricane Ida disaster relief or ask questions about the aid process.
The temporary centers are as follows:
Hampton Inn and Suites
100 Cresson Blvd., Phoenixville
Oct. 8, noon to 7 p.m.
Oct. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hyatt Place
440 American Ave., King of Prussia
Oct. 11 and 12 from noon to 7 p.m.
Marriott Collegeville
600 Campus Dr., Collegeville
Oct. 13 and 14 from noon to 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, people who already applied for Ida aid and received a FEMA ineligible decision in the mail can appeal it within 60 days. FEMA says it may only be a minor glitch that needs to be fixed, like a signature missing or another document needed.
The FEMA denial letter should give applicants a reason for the decision and offer recommendations to become eligible.
It is not required to register in person, but if people need help, they can also visit the following fixed locations:
Montgomery County Community College, Health Sciences Gym
340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell
Ashbridge Square Shopping Center
945 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown
Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management
7219 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia
Calvary Church
820 Souderton Road, Souderton
The registration deadline for disaster assistance in Pennsylvania is Nov. 10. Visit fema.gov/disaster for the information needed for the application and more.
