PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — At least seven people, including a 16-year-old and two 19-year-olds, are injured after a shooting in North Philadelphia Wednesday evening.
Police say around 6:30 p.m. people were standing on the sidewalk near 2800 North Bambrey Street when a dark-colored, four-door sedan with yellow tape or plastic across the trunk pulled up and three men got out. Police say that's when about 17 shots were fired.
The men then got back in the Sedan and drove off.
Police say when they got to the scene, they found that two women, a 29-year-old and a woman in her 40s, had been shot in the leg. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are expected to be OK.
Police say two men, ages 19 and 23, and two women, ages 19 and 31, then showed up at the hospital in a private car. They had gunshot wounds to the leg, back and arm. They are also expected to be OK.
Police say a 16-year-old then approached them with a graze wound to the stomach. She was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
What led to the shooting is not yet known but police believe it was intentional and that someone in the crowd may have been targeted. No arrests have been made and no weapons recovered.
