PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police officers were injured in a North Philadelphia car crash Sunday morning.
Officials say it happened just before 9:15 a.m. when police were responding to a 911 call.
At Fifth Street and Allegheny Avenue, an SUV going at a high speed struck a police car, and knocked down a light pole that then hit a pedestrian, officials said.
The injured officers were taken to a nearby hospital, treated and released.
Medics transported the pedestrian to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities said the SUV driver refused medical attention.
An investigation is ongoing.
