Once again, Philadelphia pauses jury duty during COVID-19

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The coronavirus pandemic has once again forced jury trials in Philadelphia to be put on hold.

Citing the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the First Judicial District is suspending jury trials and jury duty until January 2021.

Jury trials in the city were first halted in the spring, but they resumed in September under strict protocols.

If you’ve received a summons for jury duty before January, you do not have to report as scheduled. The Jury Commission said you will be given credit for at least one year.
