TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating after shots were fired at cars parked in a Tredyffrin Township neighborhood.
It happened Sunday around 1 a.m. on Washington Place, near Stockton Drive, in the Eagles Ridge condo community in Chesterbrook.
Someone fired several shots at two unoccupied parked cars, police said. There were no reported injuries. It was not immediately clear if the vehicles were targeted or if this was a random act, but police said it was an isolated incident.
Tredyffrin Township police were first alerted Sunday evening when a resident shared video and audio of the shots being fired.
Phillip Silverstone lives in the complex and said he initially thought the gunshots were fireworks.
“Then there was a ricochet sound and it sounded like something was breaking,” he recalled. “It turns out it was glass breaking on a car window. There was also a bullet in the tire, so I would imagine there was a burst of sound from that.
“It does give you a jerky feeling,” he continued, “and you wonder whether or not you are safe at night. If you have a dog or a child and you’re walking around in the dark, you are a bit nervous.”
Investigators are asking residents who live in and around the Eagles Ridge neighborhood to check their doorbell and surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity that may be related to this incident. Anyone with footage or information is asked to call Tredyffrin Township police at 610-644-3221.
