PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A fire tore through a line of homes in Chester County Sunday, displacing 22 people, including five kids.

Chief Brian Gathercole from Keystone Valley Fire Department said it happened around 3 a.m. on Easter. Six Parkesburg homes inside three duplexes caught on fire.

None of the people who lived in the homes were hurt, but he says one firefighter fell through a floor and was trapped. He was taken to a nearby hospital and has since been discharged.

Gathercole says 75 firefighters got the fire under control in about three hours.

The origin and cause of the fire are not yet known and are being investigated by the county Fire Marshal's Office.

Gathercole says the Red Cross is lending a helping hand but Parkesburg Borough is collecting donations at the Borough Hall, located at 315 West 1st Avenue. On their Facebook page, they said the residents only have the clothes on their backs and they're looking for gift cards, which can be placed inside the hall's drop box, to help the families.
