PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people were robbed at gunpoint near Temple University Tuesday morning.
Police say they all happened between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Neither the victims nor the suspect have been identified.
They say two of the victims are Temple students, who were robbed within the Temple police patrol zone on the 1900 and 1800 blocks of North 16th Street; the third victim is not a student and was robbed off-campus near 20th and West Jefferson streets.
The suspect robbed both students of their phones and one of them, a wallet. One of the phones was later recovered in the area of the incident and returned to the student. No one was injured.
Senior Neal Chitakki says these recent incidents are a bit frightening, but after being at the university for nearly four years, he has grown used to things like that.
"But at the same time, it is kind of scary. That's why we walk around in groups and always be aware of our surroundings."
Temple police detectives are assisting Philadelphia police in this investigation. They say they captured the possible suspect on security cameras. That person was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a black facemask.
Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Temple police at 215-204-1234.
