PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three employees of a major national airline based at Philadelphia International Airport have been arrested and charged with seven counts of wire fraud.

Taylor Thompson, 27 from Philadelphia, Tiana Fairfax, 29 from Philadelphia, and Theodore Robinson, 29 from Upper Darby, face charges in the case.

The indictment says the crimes are in connection with a scheme to defraud the airline that ran from December 2017 to August 2018.

The employees would charge customers lesser fees for changing flight itineraries than protocol allowed and would pocket the fees, according to the indictment.

“As alleged, these defendants used access and privileges granted by virtue of their employment to cheat the airline reservation system and skim money off the top for themselves,” said U.S. Attorney Jacqueline Romero.

The defendants and two other reported partners in the scheme allegedly modified more than 1,700 flight reservations, for a total loss to the airline of more than $283,000.
