PHILADELPHIA (KYW NEWSRADIO) — A man was wounded in an apparent shootout and then drove to Rivers Casino in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia on Monday night.
It was around 9 p.m. when police say the 28-year-old man drove his white Audi to the casino parking lot by the main entrance.
“[He] was able to get out of the car and stagger to the sidewalk. That’s where police found him,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. “Now, the Audi that he was driving was clearly shot multiple times.”
There were around 15 bullet holes in the driver’s side, Small explained, and there was evidence that shots were fired from inside the car as well.
“We found at least eight spent shell casings. So it appears that someone was also shooting from the Audi.”
Police believe the shootout happened close to a mile away on North Front Street near Callowhill Street in Old City.
“And when police went there, they did not find any victim there. They found spent shell casings,” Small said.
Investigators have not identified any other victims or a motive for the shootout.
