PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are searching for three men accused of brutally assaulting a 37-year-old man on New Year’s Day in Center City.
It was around 2 a.m. when the victim was walking with a friend along the 1600 block of Chestnut Street, according to Central Detectives Capt. Jason Smith.
“There were three males inside a black Volvo XC90, with a Pennsylvania tag,” Smith said. “It would appear that our complainant may have bumped into their vehicle.”
“They then promptly exited their vehicle and began assaulting the complainant, causing him to fall onto the ground,” Smith said.
The man was knocked unconscious and taken to Jefferson Hospital, where police said he is recovering.
