SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Mercer County seized four pipe bombs from a vehicle during a car stop on Wednesday.

Police in Hamilton pulled over 51-year-old Jeremy Giliberti, of Mount Laurel, in a green Honda Wednesday morning. During the stop, officers found four metal pipes with caps and wicks on the floor of his car.

Homes and businesses near South Broad Street and Oldfield Avenue were evacuated as a precaution.

Police said they found another pipe device while searching Giliberti’s home.

The devices were removed for destruction by the New Jersey State Police Bomb Unit.

Giliberti is now being held at the Mercer County jail. He is charged with possession of a destructive device.
