DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A 22-year-old is wanted after authorities said he intentionally drove his car into a crowd of people at a New Year’s celebration in Feasterville.
Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan said when Lower Southampton police got to the Hive Lounge on Bustleton Pike around 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, they found a 29-year-old Philadelphia man unconscious.
Khan said the car was traced back to Roba Gasitashvili from Philadelphia. According to the district attorney, Gasitashvili was captured on video intentionally accelerating his white Volkswagen into a group of five pedestrians, hitting three people and seriously injuring the 29-year-old.
“Rather than stopping, what the footage shows is that he circled back multiple times and swerved at others who were forced to dive out of his path,” Khan said.
“The victim suffered injuries including skull fractures and internal trauma. Our office has filed attempted homicide and related charges against the defendant for this attack on the pedestrian.”
The Volkswagen was found about a mile away, with damage consistent with the collisions as seen in the video. Witnesses told police Gasitashvili was driving the car at the time.
Gasitashvili is wanted on attempted homicide, aggravated assault and related charges. Khan said anyone with information should call the Lower Southampton Township Police Department or the DA’s office.
