PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old William Sayre High School sophomore nearly a month ago in the Cecil B. Moore neighborhood. Police are still searching for another suspect in the case.

Aysir Clark, 19, was arrested after he surrendered to police on Tuesday.

Clark is facing homicide, conspiracy and other related charges in relation to the murder of Nafis Betrand-Hill.

Police say Betrand-Hill was outside with a group of other young children and adults, along Montgomery Avenue, near 23rd Street, when a gray car pulled up, two males got out and they began shooting into the crowd.

Betrand-Hill, 16, was shot several times throughout his body. He was taken to the hospital, where he died about 15 minutes later.

No one else was hit or physically injured.

Police say they are also looking for 18-year-old Ranief Allen in connection to the shooting, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Anyone with information on Allen’s whereabouts is asked to call police. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
