PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police have found the middle school boy with mild autism who had been missing since Friday.

Jalen Maxwell, 13, disappeared near his family home along Anchor Street, near Cheltenham Avenue and Charles Street — across from Wissonoming Park — early Friday morning.

The seventh-grader is a student at St. Martin of Tours Catholic School, an Independence Mission School.

His principal, Jennifer Nobles, shared a plea on Twitter on Sunday.

“He was last seen in a green jacket and red and black Adidas sneakers,” she said. “Our entire community is devastated at Jalen’s disappearance. Jalen is a sweet boy who cares about his mother, his classmates and his teachers.

“Each holiday, he writes his teachers a card, wishing them a happy holiday and telling them how grateful he is for them.”

Philadelphia police say the boy was found safe Monday around noon on the 2100 block of Somerset Street.
