DOVER, D.E. (KYW Newsradio) — Health officials in Delaware reported on Friday about a measles exposure at Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington they said happened earlier this week, on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Officials with Delaware's Division of Public Health said they are currently doing contact tracing of people thought to be exposed to confirm whether or not they are vaccinated against the virus. They said it happened within the hospital's emergency department.

They warned individuals thought to have been exposed to keep an eye out for symptoms over the next 21 days, until March 11.

Measles symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, pink eye, or a rash. Those experiencing symptoms are directed to contact the Office of Infectious Disease Epidemiology during regular business hours at 302-744-4990, or the state's 24-hour reporting line at 1-888-295-5156.

The Nemours exposure comes as potential measles exposures rise in the Philly region.

Philadelphia officials warned earlier this week of a measles exposure at the Philadelphia Airport on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Earlier this month, health officials in Montgomery County also warned of a possible measles exposure in Collegeville.
