PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering a $10,000 reward following separate shootings of two dogs in the Kingsessing neighborhood of the city.

They’re looking for information on the people or person that shot them.

One of the dogs, now called Alexia, was found on March 27. She was shot multiple times in the face and leg on South 54th Street near Warrington Avenue.

Nicole Wilson with the PSPCA, says she is recovering from surgery, where they had to amputate her leg, and a blood transfusion.

Two days later and a few blocks away from where Alexia was shot, a second dog was found shot dead in a trash bag on the 6000 block of Almond Street.

“We have concerns based upon the similarities and proximity of the cases that they could be connected,” Wilson noted. “So we really need people to come forward and provide information on who may have done this.”

She said they’re very hopeful that with the public’s help they can potentially find who did this. Anyone with information is asked to call the PSPCA’s cruelty hotline at 866-601-7722 or email  cruelty@pspca.org.
