PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) – A summer class reunion was met with some scary moments when a tree came crashing down by the party.

It was just before 12:30 Sunday afternoon when a group was meeting in Fairmount Park, not far from the Mann Center.

Police say a nearby tree fell, injuring a group of people, aged between 66 and 67 years old.

At least one person had to be pulled from underneath the fallen tree, according to a fire department official.

In total, about eight people were treated, with several going to the hospital.

Authorities say everyone involved is expected to be okay.
