UPPER DARBY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A SEPTA bus swerved into the opposing lane of traffic, hopped a curb, and knocked out a utility pole Wednesday morning in Upper Darby.

It happened on Long Lane near Marshall Road around 4:30 a.m. There were no passengers on board because the bus was not in service, the transit agency said. No one was injured.

As of 7 a.m., the bus was still on the curb — on the wrong side of the street. Traffic was being diverted away from Long Lane because cars were unable to get past the dangling pole.

Officials are working to clean up the area.

SEPTA has not yet determined the cause of the crash. Upper Darby police and SEPTA are investigating.
