SEPTA Transit Police identify 2 persons of interest after reports of gunfire at Broad Street Line's Fairmount Station

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SEPTA Transit Police are investigating reports of gunfire at a subway stop along the Broad Street Line on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Andrew Busch said the subway train was stopped at Fairmount Station around 6:30 p.m., about to depart, when its operator heard gunshots.


Operators moved the train to the next northbound stop for safety. According to Busch, no one was hurt, but there was some damage to a window, believed to be from a bullet.

SEPTA released surveillance images of two young men who are wanted for questioning. Police said they have since been identified.

Busch noted that they are persons of interest at this time, not suspects.
