PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Hours before a midnight contract deadline, Wednesday night, SEPTA reached a tentative agreement with its suburban operators.
The one-year deal with SMART Local 1594 covers workers who run the Route 101 and 102 trolleys, the Norristown High-Speed Line and 20 bus routes in the Victory Division in Delaware County.
The SEPTA board will meet to ratify the suburban agreement at next month’s meeting.
SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch says the agreement is patterned after the one reached three weeks ago with Transport Workers Local 234, SEPTA’s largest union. The board met Thursday afternoon to ratify the Local 234 deal.
