PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A jury has found Sesame Place in Langhorne, Bucks County is not liable in a federal discrimination case involving allegations that theme park character performers ignored kids because of the color of their skin.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Sesame Place said they are pleased with the jury's verdict, which came on Wednesday.

The lawsuit was brought by five Black and Hispanic families who came forward after a video on social media two years ago showed a worker in a Rosita costume pass two Black girls reaching out for a hug, and then go on to hug a white girl.

The video went viral on social media. The theme park then said it would conduct a "racial equity assessment" to identify opportunities for improvement.

The parent company of Sesame Place added the park treats guests equally and they want their visitors to feel welcomed and safe.
