MANTUA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Heavy storms walloped the region Tuesday night, downing trees and power lines. Parts of Chester County and South Jersey were hit particularly hard.
PECO said nearly 11,000 customers are without power, nearly all of them in Chester County.
In Mantua Township, Gloucester County, about 4,000 Atlantic City Electric customers are still without power.
Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported, according to Mantua Township police.
Police are asking people to stay off the roads Wednesday as crews work to clear downed power lines and trees.
Schools in the Mantua Township School District also closed on Wednesday due to the damage.
