NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A South Jersey mall will remain closed through Monday, as crews are still working to clean up soot from a fire that broke out in the food court Friday night.
Officials say firefighters arrived at Voorhees Town Center around 5:30 p.m. Friday and saw heavy smoke coming from the building.
Two hours later, around 7:30 p.m., Cherry Hill Fire Police said they were providing assistance to help put out the two-alarm fire.
Everyone inside was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
The mall was closed all weekend as crews worked to clean everything up. On Sunday, officials said Voorhees Town Hall and other administration offices inside the Town Center will be closed Monday as they continue cleaning.
While the mall is closed, Boscov's is open and operating at regular hours. The food court will be closed until further notice.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but an investigation is underway.
