PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who killed a 75-year-old man in South Philadelphia over the weekend.
It happened around 10:40 p.m. Saturday on 11th Street, near Washington Avenue.
A man crashed his white Ford cargo van into two parked cars. John McDermott, 75, was pinned between them.
Police said the driver initially got out and tried to help, but then he and a passenger ran away.
Several neighbors, some of whom are doctors, saw the crash and rushed to help the man, but he died later at the hospital, NBC10 reported.
Police towed away the van and are examining it for evidence.
