PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 19-year-old has admitted to his role in the robbery and shooting of a pizza delivery driver in Southwest Philadelphia last winter.
Baraka Coffee pleaded guilty on Tuesday to aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy and a weapons charge in front of Judge Scott O’Keefe.
Coffee and three others were accused of robbing the 37-year-old driver and shooting him in the thigh and groin on Dec. 7, near 68th Street and Pascall Avenue. The driver told police they stole not only cash, but the food he was delivering as well.
In a negotiated deal with prosecutors, Coffee will spend less than two years under house arrest, with an additional three years of probation.
A 17-year-old co-defendant also pleaded guilty on Tuesday and received seven years probation.
