POTTSTOWN, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — A man wanted by authorities in Montgomery County for a fatal stabbing Wednesday in Pottstown is now in custody after a short manhunt.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said 37-year-old Ryan Grace, wanted for first degree murder in the stabbing and killing of 33-year-old Shaquille Nicholas, was captured just 15 minutes after authorities issued a reward for information leading to his arrest.

According to charging documents, Grace was at an apartment on Walnut Street off Main Street in Norristown with Nicholas when the stabbing happened. Others in the apartment said that both were in a bedroom smoking methamphetamine the night before into the early morning hours when an argument broke out over a phone.

Witnesses said Grace yelled the phone was locked and Nicholas later screamed to call for help as he had been stabbed. Grace was said to have seen fleeing the apartment with his right hand hidden in his sweatshirt, saying he had to leave.

Pottstown Police said they’ve obtained video of Grace running from the apartment with a white object in his hand.

Grace is in police custody awaiting arraignment. There is no bail for first-degree murder charges, and he will be remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
