PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for two men they say abducted two brothers in Northeast Philadelphia over the weekend, robbed and assaulted them.

Police say one of the brothers was ambushed when he returned to his Princeton Avenue home with his family around 1 a.m. on Saturday. They say two armed men were hiding outside the residence, then forced their way in, zip-tying the 38-year-old, escorting him into his own car — a black Jeep Wagoneer — then driving off.

“When they picked up the first individual, they said, ‘We are going to your brother’s house.’ This is well-planned, and this is targeted,” said Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore.

Vanore said they then grabbed his brother from his house on Comly Street and drove around for about 45 minutes, heading into South Philly and up Columbus Boulevard before going to Feltonville. He said the suspects assaulted the pair the entire drive, pistol-whipping them and demanding money or having them call people for money.

Eventually, the suspects parked near Frankford and Castor avenues and fled the area, leaving the brothers zip-tied in the car.

Vanore said they are looking for more surveillance video. The pair was last seen wearing all-black clothing from head to toe.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police tip line 215-686-8477.
