PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found on fire in a driveway in Rhawnhurst early Tuesday morning.
Officers and firefighters responded to the fire around 3 a.m. on Leonard Street, between Rhawn and Stanwood streets.
They found the man lying on a driveway with severe burns and still on fire. Firefighters put out the blaze and the man was declared dead shortly thereafter.
The man has not been identified. His body was transported to the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
Northeast Detectives are also investigating.
