PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — According to a report in the American Family Physician journal, older adults are more likely to be health conscious and proactive in their care than older adults in the past.

However, many older adults do not feel as comfortable with the internet and social media. They are also more likely to be victims of fraud. This is why it is important to reach out to those loved ones in your family who are older and work with them to gain a better understanding of electronic tools that can help them.

Medicine is changing, and many practices and hospitals are using portals as a way to communicate with patients. The more barriers that can be eliminated, the better.
