Overnight shooting incidents: 19-year-old shot at West Philly party, man killed during Germantown break-in

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — At least one person is dead and several others wounded in separate overnight shootings across Philadelphia.

Around 11 p.m. Sunday in Germantown, police said a 47-year-old man was shot and killed during a break-in on Hansberry Street, near Wayne Avenue.

Police said they found a gun and a bloody baseball bat at the scene. Investigators couldn’t say if the person who was shot was the one trying to break into the home or if it was someone who lived there.

Shortly thereafter, three men were shot in the Wissinoming section of Northeast Philadelphia. It happened around 11:45 p.m. on Benner Street, near Torresdale Avenue.

At least three dozen shots were fired. All three men are in stable condition.

Around 2:15 a.m. Monday, a 19-year-old was shot during a party at an Airbnb rental in the Belmont section of West Philadelphia, near 41st and Cambridge streets.

Police said two men pulled up in a red car, and someone at the party started shooting at them. The 19-year-old was shot in the leg. Investigators believe he was just walking by at the time.

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings.
