Teen stabbed outside West Philadelphia high school

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police say a teen is recovering after he was stabbed outside of a West Philadelphia high school during dismissal Friday afternoon.

It happened outside Parkway West High School on 48th Street and Fairmount Avenue just after 2:30 p.m.

Officials say the 17-year-old was stabbed once in the lower body with what witnesses described as a large kitchen knife. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was last listed in stable condition.

No weapon was recovered and no arrests have been made at this time.
