PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are trying to figure out if there’s a connection between two shootings that injured two teenagers in North Philadelphia.
It was around 7:15 p.m. Thursday when a 16-year-old was shot in the leg near 25th and West Cambria streets. Minutes before that shooting, police got a 911 call about a large group of kids in that area.
About two hours later, police said a 17-year-old was shot at 26th Street and Allegheny Avenue.
“And it was just a few blocks away, so of course, we’re going to investigate to see if these two victims knew each other and to see if they’re possibly related, but unknown at this time,” Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
Witnesses told police the gunman in the second shooting may have walked out of a house near 25th and Allegheny.
Police questioned the people in that house, but so far, they have not made any arrests.
