PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The former Delaware County emergency services director faces criminal charges days after he was fired from his position amid allegations of sexual misconduct and discrimination.
The Attorney General’s Office filed criminal charges against Timothy Boyce, including indecent assault, simple assault and harassment.
Prosecutors say Boyce hired a part-time coordinator at the county offices to become his executive assistant earlier this year. The two shared an office for nearly a month before the incident that led to the charges.
The victim told police before leaving the office on Jan. 30, Boyce hugged her, grabbed her face and kissed her. According to the complaint, as she tried to get away from him, Boyce grabbed her buttocks before she could flee.
She called out sick the next day and never returned to work.
Boyce was suspended in April after the victim and a second woman, with a complaint of age discrimination, came forward with their accusations. Last week the Delaware County Council voted to remove Boyce from his position.
