PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- A Villanova football player already in jail for a charge of attempted sexual assault is now charged with indecent assault from a different incident. Officials say both of these incidents happened over the last two years on Villanova’s campus.
Iyanu Elijah Solomon, 19, of Reistertown, Maryland, is currently in jail, facing felony attempted sexual assault for an incident officials say happened in Solomon's freshman year.
They say he asked a young woman to come to his dorm room, and when she did, he started getting physical with her and demanding sex.
"She had to struggle to get away and, in fact, at one point, she thought she wasn't going to get away and she started to pray," said Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollstiemer.
After hearing reports of Solomon's arrest, another female student came forward, alleging a similar situation between her and Solomon, Stollstiemer said.
"He was trying to coerce the victim into having sex with him. He touched her in an indecent way and continued to harass her," he said.
Stollstiemer says Solomon, who was already in jail on 10% of $250,000 bail, is now looking at more charges.
If convicted on these charges, Solomon is looking at more than a decade in jail.
